I also did a major customization on the wings,
by scribing some custom panel line design onto the large surface.
I also sharpened the wing tips using epoxy putty. For the panel
lines, I first designed on paper, followed by some rough transcribing
onto the surface using a marker pen. I then rough masked the parts
with masking tape, and started scribing with my pin vice and needle.

The inner surface of the wings looked really
bare and needed some detailing. I decided to cover up the entire
surface using pla-plate. The shape of the surface was first traced
out using cheaper photocopying transparency, and later transferred
onto actual pla-plate.

This was further detailed with some scratch
built air vents, and some more panel lines.

The original fists which came with the kit looks really good, but
they were made of polycap material which is difficult to sand,
and reshape. So I recasted the fists, reshaped the angle of
the index finger, and scribed in more details.

I also decided to try out a new technique for the ‘sleeve’ at the
wrists, which I saw from some hobby mags. I scratchbuilt the
sleeve from a solid block of epoxy putty. The area at the wrist
in the forearm was hollowed out a little, to house the new
sleeve. The balljoint housing for the fist had to be replaced
with one I scratchbuilt using thin pla-plate rolled up into
a cylinder. Voila… (in hind sight, this is more trouble than
its worth, so it will be the last time I do this…)
