This is the work in progress log for my entry for Plamo's 'Exia
Vagant' challenge. I'm really excited & can't wait to see the works of other
masters in the region like Pazu, Orange & Izzaku from Singapore, Eday from Hong
Kong, Nath from Philipines, and of course my 2 best friends; Whitebase
& G_net. I've never had a chance to compete with them
face to face before so this is a chance of a life time..
Winning or Losing in this special Group Build is not important at all to me.
The most important thing is that I can put my humble kit beside the works of these masters.
Oops! Too much nonsence already... I should stop here.
Engine start now!!
Below is how the model looks like right out of the box.

The shoulder joint for this
model comes with a flexible rubber... my feelings is a "yeeaak~!!" |
I decided to change the design to suit my tastes, by using the upper arm from an MG Freedom. Shown here are the parts I need to change.
Below is the comparison of how the inner frames look for both the kits. |
To merge the parts, I had to do some 'surgery'
Here's how it looks like once i merged the inner frame parts.
With the inner frame merged, I can now attach the Freedom's upper arm to the Exia's forearm. Here's a comparison of the original arm design, versus the one which i swapped the upper arm. |
Repeat the steps above for the other arm..
Next up, the forearm. I first cut the fore arm in 2. Then I covered up the hole using a piece of 'pla-plate'. |
The seperated parts were re-attached, but I intentionally made a 'step' while doing so. |
The gap created in this 'step' was filled up using layers of pla-plate like so. The final pic show's how it looks like assembled back onto the main forearm. |
