Well... today is Christmas day, it's a holiday for me & my
family... so I stole some time to rush this project, coz starting
from next week, I think I might have less time to work on this.
Next week will be the first day of school / kindergarden of my daughter...
not sure what will happen after that.. also a first time for me
to bring my child to school.. :p
On top of that, I just recieved a commision work; MG Destiny Gundam, which needs
to finished by February... too many things need to rush...
rush...
Ok, enough of all the bull shit, continue with my WIP...
I'm adding in a ball joint to the neck to increase mobility...
Next, some detailing in the inside of the body... |
This is how the it looks with the lower torso attached.... |
Test fit... to double check if the deatiling blocks any of the movement....
This is how the original neck part looks like after I replaced the bottom hinge with a ball joint.
I seperate the "collar" part to try to make more space to allow the head to move around . |
I also shaved off some excess plastic around the inner parts of the neck area to allow better movement of the head.
I really don't like the original head design of the Exia (it really
looks like Mickey to me),
so I decided to make own version. But
of course,... me being a lazy guy, I prefer using spare parts as
it is much easier for me compared to scratchbuilding.. hahaha.
This unuse part from the head of an MG FAZZ Gundam.. |
To make allow the FAZZ part ot be attached, the top portion of the V-Fin was removed like so. This is to allow the V-Fin to be removed and reattched later for painting. |
The removed part is reattached into the bottom of the FAZZ part. |
The entire assembly is coated and reshaped with epoxy putty. |
After surfacer & sanding... |
Test fit overall.. |
